Our time in NoVa is coming to an end soon. We have had a great time exploring the Smithsonian/National Mall/Mt Vernon/Williamsburg types of place here. We would like to explore some of the lesser known places/activities in our last six months here. Suggestions? (Indoor/Outdoor/museums/anything you enjoy.)
Thanks!

Bluebell walk from Riverbend Park to Great Falls National Park. It's about 1 1/2 miles, and spectacular in a few places. Bluebells should be opening in 2-3 weeks. (Odds are normie will post photos when they do.)

Some other good suggestions are in this thread:

My sis and boss told me that this is a pretty cool place to check out: Blandy Experimental Farm and The State Arboretum of Virginia. The Commonwealth's Public Garden

The best part is that it's free.

Oh! The dogwood alley there is so pretty when it's in bloom.

I second Great Falls and Riverbend Park. They're great. The US Postal Museum is neat - it's near Union Station. Annapolis is a fun place to see. Middleburg is nice. Sugarloaf Mountain in Maryland is a nice place to hike. That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

I love that museum. Who would have guessed a museum about the post office would be so interesting? Also, the building museum has some intriguing exhibits.
