also try birdseyesearch.com, someone on this board mentioned this one and it was pretty good
That is my suggestion as well. Not sure where you want to move to, but if you enter Pentagon (Arlington) as the base, that will give you a starting point. If you want to be a little more south, say Springfield/Burke, Kingstowne, Woodbridge, the enter Ft Belvoir. It gives you distances to those locations (< 10 miles, etc)

realtor.com, homesdatabase.com, and I think zillow and trulia now show rentals in their searches.

You can try using Tinkomatic.com [url="http://www.tinkomatic.com"].
You can search craigslist, oodle, kijiji, and backpage at the same time, add filters to your search - and save it; so you don't have to re-do the search every time you want to check for new postings.

HomesDatabase - Home for Sale and Rent in DC, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania, Real Estate Listings, Homes for Sale and Rental Property Listings – REALTOR.com®, and I think zillow and trulia show rentals now too. Two other sites I've used are for rent by owner, and military by owner. You can also check with a realtor. The service offered won't cost you anything, the landlord pays commission.
