Please chime in and let me know what is there to do in Burke? It seems very suburbia with family and kids...any bars etc. or is it a deadzone for non married-family oriented people.

I didn't think of Burke as a singles hotspot but a quick map search of "bars in Burke, VA" brought up four. Still, I think you've been around to know that if Burke is convenient enough to your job, that's a benefit that shouldn't be discounted.

Not too many things to do in Burke...i would suggest venturing 15 minutes to Fairfax, there are bars everywhere in Fairfax. Also, I would check out Tyson's Corner, which is 20 minutes away from Burke.

I agree with the PPS--there is not much to do in Burke. Even good restaurants are scarce. Just as an example, when we have a Mother's Night Out in our moms groups, we always go somewhere else unless we are meeting for coffee.

It's not a single's place. The young people I know that live there (late 20s) spend a lot of time at the Austin Grill in Springfield.

Agree with the previous posters. There isn't much in Burke. But there is a ton of stuff near Burke. I think that's why so many families love it here! It's a safe, quiet area close to plenty of neat stuff.
