I'm looking at renting an apartment in Munster perhaps as an escape from the city or something and its close to my gfs home town

can anyone point out to me sites that have apartments in Munster? or real estate agents that have listings for apartments in Munster or even houses i guess but i would prefer an apartment.

Thank you.

I'm not really an expert on Munster, but I do know that there are very few apartments in that town. If you're looking to still stay close to Chicago, you may want to look into the towns of Highland, Hammond (south of 169th), or Whiting. These are all about as close (if not closer) to Chicago and will likely have more apartments available compared to Munster.

The rental market in Munster is very competitive because 1) there are so few rentals in the town to begin with and 2) many of the duplexes in the northwest side of town that were rented in the past are being converted into single-family homes or torn down and rebuilt to sell...the available rentals seem to be decreasing. Generally, the main way to rent is to find a condo that someone is trying to sell and see if they are willing to rent it out while it is for sale. Obviously this is not ideal for everyone but it is the only way that I know many people have been able to rent. Regarding the towns that svillechris listed, yes, they are not seen as the most desirable, but if you are in the right areas, you will be fine. Highland has no dangerous area at all so anywhere there would be fine. Hammond (as long as you are south of 169th...south of 173rd even better) you should be fine. Whiting is a hit or miss depending on where you are. But I can say that Whiting is making some serious strides to make the town much nicer.
