I moved to the Valpo area about a week ago and since arriving I've had the worst allergies of my life. I don't think my nose has stopped running yet, itchy eyes, the whole deal. Does anybody else in the area have bad allergies? Is this area known for being an allergy hotspot? Maybe this sounds ridiculous, but I'm really just curious if anybody goes thru this.

Yeah, I suffer from major allergies this time of year too. Actually I do most of the year but particularly late spring/early summer. I imagine that the unseasonably warm spring had something to do with it. Claritin or Allegra generally works for me.

Its Cottonwood season. That's a huge irritant for me.

August is the beginning of Ragweed season, welcome to Indiana!

I know several people who never had allergies in their lives, but come here and about die. Find a good allergist. It will make your life much easier.

Suddenly having allergy symptoms when one has never previously suffered from them, can happen with any move or trip to a different area. I don't typically suffer allergy symptoms in Indiana. My immune system doesn't react to those things I've been exposed to my entire life. (my Husband does though). The only times I've experienced allergy like symptoms have been on trips to Florida. Different trees and pollens that caused my immune system to react.
