Is this because of the snow?

No, its due to higher crime rates in the northern cities.

Chesterton or Valparaiso. Forget Hobart, Portage or IL

Recently met a guy who moved from Ohio to Valpo and he works at some Ford factory in IL......the one near Torrance Av. I believe. He decided to rent for a year or two before making a final decision, but he ruled out Hobart immediately.

Met a young guy yesterday working in Hammond and he selected Cedar Lake.

We are moving to the area from NY. We just signed paperwork on a house in St John. The commute might be a little long, and can't take the train, but the houses have a little more land, and we aren't paying IL taxes.
