What ever became of Myer (sp?) Mansion on Rt 30 in Dyer?

It's called Meyer's Castle and they operate it as an event venue (typically Weddings and Receptions), a restaurant, and they also have a nightclub/lounge.

Just my personal opinion BUT you couldn't pay me to have an event there - especially with a wealth of other options in the immediate area. There have been lots of talk about the cleanliness of the facility as a whole.

Your not the only one. They don't keep it very clean. The restaurant is very inconsistent as well. Could be one of the coolest venues in NW Indiana, but they aren't.......

I looked up the reviews on the steakhouse...honestly, only 18% would recommend it on Urban Spoon and it had consistantly poor reviews elsewhere as well.

It shocks me that things are apparently being run THAT poorly...like you said the potential to have something really awesome in there is huge...too bad that doesn't seem to be the case at the moment.
