Hi, all, my husband and I just moved from Shanghai, China and is going to relocate in Valpo area. We both like the community a lot and has found a nice house near the town. We'll soon start our shopping for the new house, (we have to buy all the staff in a house), but we know only few furniture stores nearby. Except for the several stores in Merivelle shopping mall area, we don't know where else we can find furnitures. Talk about the shopping mall, the one on the road side of Mereville is also the only one we know. Any such infomations you guys can offer would be highly appreciated.

Depend on how far you are willing to travel. You mention Merrillville furniture stores, well if you keep down US-30 from there, you will run into other stores in neighboring towns such as Schererville, St John, Dyer, Munster, Highland etc.

Hi there,
There are cute shops in downtown Valparaiso Indiana where I go a lot to shop a lot including David's which sells nice men's clothing, a couple of boutique children's clothing shops Butterfly Kisses and a jewelry store Martin Binder's which sells nicer jewelry like Rolex watches and Tag Heuer and many many restaurants. Welcome to the area and enjoy!

David's no longer in Valpo, only in Merrillville. DeYoungs in St John is good for furniture.

Hi, I live in Hebron and I shop for furniture at the Caroline House in Demotte, In. They have high quality furniture and nice to deal with. If you are looking for boutique type house decorations, I go to the Bonnie View which is located in Hobart, IN. They are in the mall across the street from St. Mary's Hospital. She is a floral and gift shop. Her prices are reasonable and she does very pretty floral wreaths and pieces.

For your kitchenware items, you may want to go to Lighthouse Place in Michigan City which has Corningware, Le Creuset, and Kitchen Collection stores.
