I currently live in Hobart Indiana and am considering moving to Terre Haute. My question is this: how are gas prices and food prices in that area? Does anyone live there that could help me? I just want to know in advance what my cost of living and budgets should be. Thanks in advance!

You posted in the NW Indiana forum. You will get more replies if you post in a forum (SWI) relative to the Terre Haute area which is considerably South. I can't give much advice, but I do have an Aunt that lives there and she bought a 2500 sq ft home in excellent condition on 5 acres there for $159K and her property taxes are less than $1000 a year, so I assume the COL is much less there than up here.

The actual cost of living, food and gas, is not going to be significantly different. Housing or renting maybe be less expensive.
