I have a child entering Kindergarten and one in pre-school. Can you give me specific names of schools where they can get a good education? I hear horrible things about the public schools except Banneker (sp?) Is there really a waiting list to get in? Coming from Chicago where there are neighborhood schools and lottery schools. How does the system work in the Miller area?

I have to tell you, with little ones, you might want to look at Chesterton.

Good school system & with the South Shore line right there for an easy commute to Chgo.

I am fairly certain you don't want your kids in the Gary Public School System.

The best school I've been able to find is Forest Ridge Academy (www.fra.edu). I recently went to visit and it looks amazing, but it's pricey. Munster accepts tuition students for high school, but I'm not sure about elementary.
