I'm looking to purchase a fence for my backyard soon. Probably vinyl, roughly 180 linear feet. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for any quality fencing companies in the area that do good work for a reasonable price. Please have support (i.e. you've purchased from them) for any recommendations. Thanks in advance.

I see that you are most likely interested in vinyl, but if you decided to go with wood, I would recommend First Class Decks, in Hobart. Steve, is the owner and he is wonderful. His prices for the quality work he does cannot be beat. He did our privacy fence, and then our neighbors decided to have him do theirs also.
Just FYI, I would stay away from Wunder Fencing, they did a few fences in our neighborhood, and they are supported very well, and are starting to lean. Best of luck!

Thanks for the reply, but I'm only considering vinyl fences. I don't want to have to go through the hassle of the upkeep and repainting of wood fences. I've requested some free consultations for this weekend from about 5-6 different companies, but what would you ballpark the total cost to be for 150 ft of vinyl fencing, including labor? I have my estimates but I'd like to hear others. Thanks

I'm surprised they didn't just quote you over the phone.

For 6ft, I bet you're looking at at least $3500.

You think it'll be $3500 for 150 linear feet, including labor? If that's the case I'd be happy, I was expecting quite a bit more. We'll see what they say.

I've had quotes from 25-30 a foot - BUT that doesn't include gates.

And I'm just realizing that my quick math in my last post sucked.

I meant 180 linear feet not 150.. so at $30 per foot that puts me at $5400... did the quote you obtained include labor or no?

To follow up on this, we got quotes from 6 different fence companies in the area. The best overall deal and the company we decided to go with Cedar Rustic Fence Co. out of Joliet who appears to be a very established company with great prices. The most well known local fencing company, Reeves Fence Co., was very highy priced and were probably last on my list.
