I am moving to Hawaii with my boyfriend and 3 dogs and want to take a private charter plane. I'll be going sometime September or October 2011, totally flexible. Leaving from Seattle but that s flexible too. Anyone want to share?? Can save 50%!
Hello!
I'm also moving to Hawaii in September/October of 2011 with my two dogs. I'm allowing myself to be very flexible with the exact date as I don't want my girls to fly cargo. Very much interested in sharing a charter flight. If you are still looking for someone to share the flight with...Please let me know the details/cost of this flight. Thank you!

Awscromwell, what is the price? I am in the same situation looking to get my dogs out to Hawaii safely but I live out of Southern California.
Right now int he economy if your able to get a single leg trip (they have someone looking to go from hawaii to the mainland) you can get a prices as low as $30,000 all inclusive from CA to maui for 6 pax. You only want all inclusive prices as hourly or leg prices don;t include taxes, fees, etc, etc which can add a big amount to the final bill. Someone once posted a $26,000 cost but later admited it ended up over $36,000 when all cost were added in. (and they had a last minute fuel surcharge increase )
Wait -- what is "6 pax"? Six passengers?
Wow, that's only $5,000 per passenger. If you're saving 50% on that, you need to check your math.
I'd have to agree with countrygal, I love my little guy too, we're family, but for a price difference of 30,000 dollars, sometimes family can endure a little inconvenience. I've a couple of friends that have part-time jobs working at our local airport as baggage handlers ( great flight perks ), and they've all genuinely assured me that the pets are ALWAYS the last on, and the first off. They really are very well taken care of. I've flown a few times with my little 2 year old cockapoo, no sedatives at all, and he always comes out of the crate wiggling his entire body ( the tail wags the dog in his case.) Even if I could afford to, I'm sure I could find a better way to spend it.
Hi all... we are traveling to HNL with Golden and 2 cats in October, and would love to share info; possibly flight for sure! Not sure about AQS; however, if you have all your ducks in a row with the titers, all should be fine. Hiring some pet travel specialist in addition is also a great idea. I took 4 pets to/from Costa Rica, and though we didn't have to do the 120 day titer, it was very laborious. Ohhhh, there's hope! also, in October it's hot in HNL- commercial airlines will not allow pets to fly if temp is greater than 80. Thoughts? Let's collaborate!

Follow the rules for quarantine to the letter. There are no getting around them. There;s no short-cuts. If it says "A" it is "A" and only "A"
Honolulu temp restrictions apply more to departing flight and not arriving because upin arrival, all pets are whisked directly to animal quarantine, so they are not sitting around.
How about you take a normal flight to Hawaii and give me the rest of the money you were going to spend on the Charter Flight? I figure it is a win-win situation. You get to move to Hawaii with your pets (who will not notice any difference in where they fly on a plane) and I get to pay off some of the $60,000 hole that I am in for buying a house at the height of the housing market.
Deal? Great! PM me for details on where to send the money!

Can you give me more info about private charter plane? I have 3 English Mastiffs and one small rescued dog, that will be $1000's if in shipping each one, plus the quarantine if needed, I have all their paperwork up to date and everything else.. Im not moving them right away, but in like a year, and will be awesome if i have a little more info about that. Thank you very much in advance. I was moving in Sep 2011 too, but I have to wait a little bet more to have a little bit more savings.
I have a 5 year old boxer, and won't put her in a crate to fly. I just called and got a estimate of $35,000 one way deadhead to Hawaii from Vancouver. We will be moving over sometime in the fall, and would look at splitting a private jet over, with one or two other parties.
I am planning on moving to Maui from San Diego with my 2 cats in late August/early September. I have been taking them to the vet to get all their paperwork ready (and paying several hundred dollars each) so they can be cleared for immediate release and now I spent hours trying to find an airline that would let them in the cabin. I found out there isn't a single one. Isn't that the point of getting all their vaccines, tests, and certificates that say they are clear? Anyway, my search led me to this website. I don't know how much the charter flight would cost if a few of us split it but I would sure like to find out. I see you are in Vancouver ut if there is anyone else interested in this option please let me know.I am interested in any info and would definitely do it if it was at all affordable for me. Please let me know any details you have. Mahalo!
Oh and FYI to an earlier post, the department of agriculture does not put any restrictions on where they can travel whatsoever. It is the choice of the airline so it is not prohbiited as suggested..

I am moving to Maui in Sept from San Diego with my 2 cats and would definitely be interested in any info if charter flights are at all affordale. I am having the same frustration with spending tons of money to get them certified and up to date on vaccinations but no one will allow them to fly in the cabin....I know they are cats and would probably be fine but I planned all along to take them on the plane with me and really do not want toleave them alone in the cargo. All this packing and preparing is already freaking them out...Any info would be appreciated. Mahalo
