Our dog was stolen back in michigan and my wife cried and cried. Does anyone know where on oahu can I buy teacup yorkiepoo puppies that are female. I have about 900.00 to spend. If you can give me some sites or people it would be great appreciated.
First of all, please do not purchase any dog that is advertised as "teacup" There is no such thing as a teacup (except for the kind you drink out of, LOL) Also, purchasing a mixed dog is putting money in to the hands of a backyard breeder who breeds strictly for profits and chances are does not care what health problems they are breeding so chances are some health issues and another dog that could possibly die making your wife even more sad. I know of one kennel in Hawaii that shows their dogs and has multiple breeds to choose from. Please try and google a SHOW breeder in Hawaii.
Poi puppies can go for hundreds in Hawaii, so the chances of buying a "designer" dog like a yorkie-poo for $900 is a bit difficult. Breeders will not sell for that price (unless it is the runt or have some other problem that makes the pup less likely to sell at the regular asking price).
Do not despair though, because if you are willing to wait and to put your contact info on waiting lists (or buy a pup and have it wait it's quarantine time at the Breeders and have it's paperwork absolutely pristine and then airport release is possible)- which kind of negates the whole $900.00 thing.
You can leave your contact info at the Humane Society (on all of the Islands!) as well as some of the rescue organizations and if a Yorkie-Poo comes in (not unheard of!), then you may have the dog you are wishing for at a GREAT adoption fee!
Good luck and please let us know when you have that new addition to your family!
Try contacting several local veterinarians. They might know where you can find one. There are some in the paper here in Kona for about $1800 similar to what you're looking for but again, don't buy froma pet shop or a puppy mill. Buy from a reputable home pet breeder and ask to see the parents on site.
