I saw another forum talking about tap water.

Looks like Honolulu is #6 in the nation for having good tap water:
Big City Water Ratings

While I dont understand the entire graph, it seems for what their looking at, it has quite low numbers. Surprised it's not even higher on the list for good tap water.

Hawaii has great aquifers. If it wasn't for all the pesticides that were used years ago (like dieldrin), Honolulu would probably be #1 on that list.

I don't think they add fluoride to the water here either, do they?

They have overbuilt the water table on Oahu, though. The aquifer level has been dropping since the sixties. At some point they will probably have to put in a desalination plant. Dunno how the water would taste after that.

On the island of Hawaii, many folks claim the water in Waiohinu over near Naalehu by Southpoint tastes the best. When we lived on catchment water, we'd stop at the roadside faucet and fill up our drinking jugs every time we'd go through Waiohinu. We have county water now, though, so no more filling up drinking jugs but we are much further away from Waiohinu so we don't hardly get there anymore anyway. We still fill up at least a small bottle when we go there, though, just for old time's sake.

No fluoride in Oahu except for military bases.
