Any thoughts on getting a few mattress's will only have rental car at the time but have only a few days to get the apartment set up.
Would Costco be the least expensive? Do they deliver.
We will be in Laie. Any other thoughts on finding these and getting them there.
Thanks in advance.

I recall Sears delivers....or rent a truck and deliver it yourself from the store where you
make your purchase be it Costco or some other store.

I would just like to find a not so costly mattress. I have looked on craigslist...I am thinking new if I can afford. Was wondering what the going price is at Costco, or another less expensive alternative. Ordering bunks with full twin size beds for kids so I think I only need the mattress's and not box springs. Only have a few days before the kids get started at school and want to settle them in quickly. If renting a truck I still have to figure out where, which direction to go etc. I am trying to pack/purge and really going crazy. Just trying to not go through so much there.
Thanks again.

Since you are in Oahu - the best way and cheapest way is to befriend someone in the military - the exchange stores always have sales and you don't pay tax - and they contract delivery very cheap.

Have you looked into Freecycle? You could post a wanted ad...you never know if someone has been thinking about getting rid of some beds and hadn't gotten around to posting them. I got rid of a lot of furniture from a second home in the Keys that way when I sold the home and didn't want to bother with the furniture from it and didn't want to add the furniture to my first home's furnishings. It was such a blessing to gift it to those who needed it. Still, I made them come pick up the free furniture. You should be able to find a rental truck for an hour or two cheaply.

Walmart has futons for about $50. Maybe just use those for awhile, and later they make great spare beds that can be easily stored under "real" beds when you get those. [I am talking about just the foldable futon mattress, NOT the framed futon couch/bed.]

Home Depot is right next door to Costco on Alakawa in Honolulu. Rent one of their trucks for an hour. Buy mattress first, get truck next. Drive quickly and return truck.

I don't know the name, but there is a place on Queen St a block or two before Ward Ave that is a mattress place. Probably a block of two past Cooke St past the old Queen Bee. They advertise twins for $200, full for $xx.00 (sorry can't remember) and upwards. They list they deliver, although Laie is quite up there, you'd have to ask them. Again, I do not remember the name but they've been there for years. Maybe do a search for Mattresses + Queen St or something to that effect.

I'd be iffy on used mattresses, I'm always seeing used mattresses thrown out on the streets and my first thought is "bed bugs" .

Edit to add : here it is, I added the Yelp page with reviews. YMMV, so shop around!

Which is also illegal. Any Exchange patron caught doing this could lose their access to the Exchange.
