Hi.
I'm looking to purchase a home in the Portlock area. Some homes have pools, while some do not. I'd like to have a pool (at least 15' by 30', in ground). I had an irregular-shaped gunnite pool, 42' long, with a spa and a wall waterfall done for $44K on the mainland about 10 years ago.

Does anyone know the approximate costs for installing an in ground pool (without costs for fencing, landscaping, patio, etc.)?

Thank you!

I'd budget at least $25K (very basic) to $50K+ as a lot of variables involved from the ground it will go in to the bells and whistles......

Default thanks whtviper

The costs seem pretty comparable to (or lower than) pool installation on the mainland

It can change very quickly, once they get down a few feet, and hit a blue rock that is firmly connected to the center of the earth. Which is probably better than digging a pool on the Bigger Island and hitting rock that still ain't quite 'rock' yet.

You're on an island surrounded by the biggest in-ground pool on the planet.

Complete with solar heating, a passive water-circulation system and multiple high-dives.

From what I understand, those who live on the Big Island are closer to being connected to what's at the center of the earth since some of it is leaking out there.

Darn wife won't stop watching them science shows and a little bit of the information is getting into my head!

Not too much though. I promise.
