Ocala metro area is far bigger (335,000) than Gainesville metro area (258,000). Ocala is spread out. Gainesville is more condensed, which means more people live within the city limits of Gainesville, but as we all should know, city limits are arbitrary and metro areas are the better way to determine population. Gainesville is far more famous though.

With that being said, Gainesville should have its own forum because of all the people that move their every year to go to school.

I think combining the forums would be unwise because they are two vastly different cities. You need to be an expert in each particular city. Knowing Ocala does not transfer into knowning Gainesville or vice versa.

That would be great.

That might be true. But, I think that's kind of true with many areas. People who know Tampa, might not necessarily know St. Pete. People who knows Sarasota might not know Venice, etc.

Apparently no one is interested in Gainesville.

It's not about the size as there are larger metros than Gainesville without a forum and metros smaller than Gainesville that have a forum. The threads below offer insight as to what it takes for a subforum to added.
