I recently visited Pine Ridge (Beverly Hills, FL) and Terra Vista for a vacation. I was surprised how hard it was to find souvenirs in the area. Did I miss something or is that the way it is?

Normal, non-tourist areas of Florida dont have souvenir shops everywhere.

You'd have better luck finding Hollywood, FL souveniers.

Next time go up to one of the Ocala exits off 75, there's a place that sells oranges and gator heads and all that tourist stuff.

I have visited FL last summer, & also haven't found the souvenir's shop in the area.
I thought because I had skipped some places to make it a budget trip.

Do you think a souvenir shop in the area would be something that be a good business?

I think people would buy items with the name of their town either for themselves or for family members. Let me know what you think....

I may just have to move there to try this business idea.

I would not advise it as a good business, unless you have money you are willing to waste. The overhead to operate such a business would easily eat all potential profits.

You might want to visit first and take a look around.

Agreed!!

It is more like the "Beverly Hillbillies" once they retired there.

It's been my observation that you'd probably have more success selling NY Yankees and NY related items than any Florida items.

I think the lack of tourists souvinier shops is because the flea markets get busy in fall/winter and you can find all that stuff there.
