The area of 10043 SW 160 st fla highlands subdivision, what kind of area is this?? The good bad and the ugly kind of info is what I am looking for. Found a few places in and around the dunnellon area and don't need to find employment just a retirement home but don't want to be in a, excuse me for saying, trashy or filled with kids area, not that there is a problem with kids, but mine are grown and am looking for a quieter way of life..

Just moved away from Dunnellon. Lots of drugs, drinking, and seemed like everybody smoked there. Trashy people riding ATVs on the roads day and night. We were in Rio Vista. Neighborhood of expensive houses occupied by lowlifes. There are much better parts of Ocala to live in than Dunnellon.

There's nowhere to get a decent meal in Dunnellon unless you love McDonald's. You're 18-20 miles from Ocala. There's nothing to do in Dunnellon unless you want to share the river with a bunch of drunks and screaming kids. You'll find yourself putting 100s of miles on your car going somewhere else.

Their newest thing is the red light cameras to supplement their budget. My neighbor's burglar alarm went off, it took the law 45 minutes to get there and the station was less than 5 miles away.

We bought a house in Meadow Wood Farms, NW Ocala off CR 328. Still 10 miles from Ocala, but much nicer area. It's an equestrian community, everybody has at least an acre, most have 5+ acres. Peaceful and quiet, no barking dogs or screaming kids.

I will say I don't miss Dunnellon in the least. If it fell off the earth, it would be a small loss.
