have lived here for 15 years. Great small town atmosphere with lots of horse farms in the area. Hurricane safe.

It's okay I guess if you enjoy the following activities:shuffle board, bingo, bridge tournaments, and slow driving. Anybody from the ages 45-80 will find Ocala paradise on earth but anybody else will regret they landed in this big town. I been here in Slowcala since at least 1997. Of course, the following is just my opinion and that doesn't really matter or reflect others.

we are looking to move to ocala

we are interseted in a family development
we were in ocala for a day or so this summer..of rt 200, seems real nice not to rural and not too congested.

we went to fore ranch
from those that live their....how is the neighborhood, the people(we didn't see too many) how is the builder and the quality of the houses...the schools..we have a almost HS aged son

we like the idae of a self contained community almost within walking distance of stores( a new york thing we can't shake)

are there any other developments like this off rt 200?

thanks
Barry..if you don't want to post PM(email me)

Lived there for two years just recently and the only thing I didn't like about it is that it's a hard city to 'break in to'. Lots to do, close enough to tons of attractions... Only an hour from Orlando..

I visited Ocala and it is very nice , with all the horse farms, but it has changed and there is too much traffic. Seems like people drive too fast there. I was going to live there but changed my mind.

We are in AR and have been for 13 years. Our former neighbors, originally from FL moved back to Ocala about 4-5 years ago. They like it very much. Other neighbors moved to Tallahassee. We have lost some of or favorite neighbors, to our disappointment as we picked this area for our retirement.
