Hello!
I am looking to relocate to Ocala from the Washington DC suburbs, as my family has moved there, and I want to be closer to them.
I currently work in a position where I am a customer service rep/ account manager/ administrative type position. While I do not have my degree, I have been working in this industry for quite a few years and would consider myself experienced.
I know FL is experiencing tough economic times, so I'm curious to know if there's a job market for this field down there. I've submitted applications on CL, but have only gotten spam back. I'm wondering if there is success in using a temp agency.
If there is a market for a customer service rep, what is a general salary level starting point?
I know it's relative based upon where you live- for example, I make about 18 dollars an hour here ( about 37K per year) however rent for in a not so great neighborhood is about 1100 per month.
I would assume I should make a considerable amount less.
Thank you in advance!

Can you do your current job from home? The trend is to work at home and if you are not dealing face to face in your current job maybe that will work for you and your employer. No harm is asking.

By the way I know of a class room college professor that just relocated across the country and will now be teaching his students over the internet. Not great for the students but it works for the professor.

I wish I could do my job from home- I am the primary point of contact for a mail house- so I actually have to be in the office to look at each mail peice, and get it ready for production.

My skillset is one I can use with any customer service/account management job. Previous to this, I worked as the same in a telecom job, so it really is universal.
