Hello,
I did not see any threads regarding my needs...
I am considering locating in Gainsville/Ocala area. I used to live in Sarasota, but it has grown too much.
I would like a smallish-1000-1300ft2 house. I do not think I want a condo. I would like to be where I can ride my bike safely for errands/exercise. Is it possible to find something in the $125,000-15,000 ?
I looked on Realtor.com, but I am not familiar with the neighborhoods.
Also, is the VA Hospital finished?
Thank you

I don't think this forum has many Real Estate agents checking in. This isn't a RE forum. You would need to contact a RE agent in Ocala and explain what you are looking for. There is a VA hospital out near The Villages.

try Trulia or mylandbaron, or Zilla or CL - also, the HUD has some interesting offerings. or call the MacCommunities directly and ask the management, that is, if you want to live under their rules and enjoy what they offer in return for your freedom.

Theres a nice area that a friend of mine just moved to, called Quail Meadows, right off of 27. Very convenient to Publix, close to Ocala, but far enough away to get away from traffic. Very quiet neighborhood, with a pool. I think its over 55, but Im not sure. My friend said theres several houses there under $100k available now.

Quail Meadow is a 55+ community. I don't know if the OP would qualify. Nearby there are communities called "The Fountains" and "Ocala Estates" that might suit your needs.
