Hi I will be moving to Ocala and I will need a job as an Occupational Therapist. I have worked mostly with children but have worked in Geriatrics as well. I don't know the schools in Ocala or vicinity but I'm willing to travel and learn where to go.
I need help getting to know the available resources, shopping areas, recreational areas and various activities. I'm looking forward to living in a more peaceful environment. Thank you for your help with suggestions advice and information.

I would think you would need to go there and find out for yourself through the local papers, talking to Hosp and Rehab personnel depts, looking into job fairs etc. I don't think you can learn these things from a Forum. Perhaps stay at an inexpensive motel for a few weeks and get familiar with Ocala and the surrounding areas. See what's available. You may find it's not a good area for the work you do.

I live in Citra half way between Gainesville and Ocala. Both are very nice and have
ample hospitals and medical facilities that are always looking for occupational therapist. Depending on your age I would say Gainesville has more opportunities. Ocala is more laid back.

I had the pleasure of driving thru Citra last year when I75 was backed up due to an accident and we took a detour. Reminded me alot of "Old Florida." I would love to live in that area. Looking to relocate back to Florida if possible. Hoping the economy keeps picking up.
