I may be moving to the Ocala area soon. What does the job market look like? I have a lot of retail and call center experience.

I'd be moving to help care for a family member; a decent paying job would be nice but it's not the primary reason for relocating. Any tips/insights are appreciated! Also, a commute is fine.

Disney World is much closer than California.

As far as jobs are concerned, not so hot. The main job market is the medical care field currently.

I'm not terribly familiar with Ocala yet (I'll be moving there soon, too!), but from my visiting, I noticed that there were an average amount of retail options for the size of the city that it is. If that's the direction you decided to take, I'm sure that you could find something with some perseverance. On the other (informed) hand, I'm coming from Jacksonville, and I can say from personal experience that Jax is home to quite a few call centers and has a relatively healthy economy overall. Not sure if you're dead set on Ocala, but it's something to consider. Both areas seem to have slightly lower than average wages (and costs of living).
