My husband and I are moving to Crystal River in a month or so. I am in need of a good recommendation of a family doctor. There are so many around there I can't pick one and wanted some experiences from anyone that has found a good doctor or how I can find one myself. We are both retired and my husband will need some referrals from the new doctor. I thought I would stat with a GP. Thank you .

We live in Pine Ridge, which borders Crystal River. I go to Dr. Savage at Nature Coast Primary Care, on Citrus Avenue. I have to say though that I've only gone once, and didn't see him. I saw his PA, whom I really liked. And I have only heard good things about the practice.

Let me know if you need any other info, I'll see if I can help. We've lived here for over 2 years and my kids go to school in CR.

Good luck to you!!

It is hard to find a good doctor as there is very little to go on for most.
I would start out with your insurance company and see which doctors are in their plan.
If you have medical problems you might mention those for speculates.
You could pick a local hospital and see who is associated with the hospital.
I think you might have to wait until you move and then start asking your coworkers who they use.
