....and I am in need of reputable, thorough and objective professionals to perform a Home and Termite Inspection.

I do not want to rely on my realtor's suggestion lest there be a conflict of interest.

Can anyone recommend reliable, trustworthy and reputable individuals or companies for these purposes? Do I need a termite inspection for a concrete block home?

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.

Oh yes !! Definitely get a termite inspection, even though the home is concrete block because the roof is constructed with wood trusses.

I have used a home inspector from Amerispec, Terry Boring here in Ocala. He uses an independent pest control specialist for a very reasonable price. I have used him for 3 single family homes and 3 rental units that I have personally purchased.

Default Pest inspectors

Ask your agent for 3 different names. You should always talk to at least 2 or 3 to compare pricing, etc. Find out how long they have been in business.

Yes you need a termite inspection. I would expect that you will not have any problems but termites can be a problem in FL

I wish DH were awake as we got an excellent inspection of property we are buying a little east of Ocala, in the ONF. It was $350 and worth every penny. The owner has some things to fix in 10 days or we back out. Never buy property without a complete and thorough inspection. There is a lot more than termites to worry about.
