Hello all, My wife and I are from Massachusetts. We will be in the Ocala area in October and were wondering if you could give us some ideas for quality restaurants in the area. We like seafood and Thai food mostly. We will be in the area for 3 or 4 days looking at some homes. Thinking about a relocation for retirement. We like to know where the locals eat. We do not like the touristy restaurants. Nothing too pricey just good quality food at a decent price. Thank you all in advance.

There is a well known resturarant, Ayuttaya Thai Cuisine on SW College Road (Hwy 200) within about 2 miles NE of I-75). Hope that helps.

If you dont mind to dive a bit, Crackers in Crystal River is nice, beautiful drive over there. IVY House is pretty neat in Ocala, Harry's Seafood for a cheaper place that is pretty decent, Mojo Grill is pretty good too.

If you dont mind driving a bit from Ocala, I think of two places to get good seafood: The Blue Gator in Dunnellon, and Dan's Clam Stand in Crystal River.

Can't think of any good Thai food places off the top of my head

We have just moved to Ocala, to On Top of the World. We've been to Bonefish Grill, it's a nice one here. And I second Crackers in Crystal River, we went there in June when we were house hunting and enjoyed it. We've tried the Royal Orchard on 200 and it's quite nice also.

Make your way over to Port Orange near Daytona sometime and Try Aunt Catfish. Also, Norwoods in New Smyrna Beach is excellent and Dixie Crossroads is good too.
