I will be visiting the Ocala National Forest next month for the first time and I am looking to do a quick (1- hour) hike. Does anyone have any experience with the various hiking trails in ONF? I am looking for some of the safer and less busier trails (going solo and looking for some solitude).

Any advice? Thank you!

THe Florida Trail goes through the ONF. It goes right by the Juniper Springs Campground. You could start there and go a few miles in either direction. You could also do a canoe/kayak trip from there through a concessionaire.

I have hiked starting at Pat Island Trailhead off of SR 19. I did not see many people.

Even though its October it will still be warm to hot so remember water and account for the bugs
