You can contact the Citrus County Sheriff's Department and ask them for info. Crystal River, the city, I don't *think* has its own PD. You might think in terms of what you can do to harden the property you have. Once you've bought it, it's kinda yours to deal with. Cameras, gates, dogs, whatever you need to feel comfortable.

Good luck with your move.

I don't think Crystal River has a violent crime problem. There is a major drug problem with opioids and meth in all the rural and small counties in Florida and nationwide however.

What are you seeing that is concerning you?

Try the county, city and facebook sites and see if you can find any crime info.

Try https://spotcrime.com/ The report is based on your address. This will probably answer your question.

I live on the opposite side of the county, Citrus Springs. Citrus County, in general, has a reletively low crime rate. I`m not sure where you are moving from, but chances are you will find its a safe, friendly place to live.
About the only crimes I hear about around here are related to drugs, and petty theft.

I have lived in Citrus County for nearly ten years and the crime rate is relatively low compared to similar areas in Florida. The major issue is drugs, as is all over the country. The city of Crystal River does not have a reputation as a high crime area.

FWIW, did you check to see if your new house is in a flood zone? Even if not, I'd still purchase flood insurance to be on the safe side.
