A cautionary tale on micro-homes. Of course the article is from Realtor.com so their may be bias in them putting up this article but nonetheless has serious considerations for folks looking at micro-homes

https://www.realtor.com/news/trends/...use-blogs_sell

Personally, 3-D printed or wood micro homes just seem like a new angle to sell sheds as they don’t have a lot to offer sustainable year round living. They may be good for hunting camps and such.

The 3D printing homes are conceptual, one-off etc. Nothing out there to show something beyond proof of concept.

When a developer can offer a The Villages like development with tiny homes, maybe it will find a market.

Simple-life.com. They are tiny home communities with amenities. After buying the house all HOA/utilities/land lease are rolled into one fairly low monthly charge that will not change. They are starting to build one just outside The Villages in Florida. However, the original investment to buy the house is around $100K, outside the OP’s budget.

I'm going to have to read through that blog you sent me, But I believe those might be different from the ones I'm talking about.

I Definitely did not want a house made out of wood :S I was expecting my 3D printed home to be made out of concrete.

I find it strange that it said that it might not be suitable for year round living. I thought a concrete home would work. Unless the rain might wear it down over time, but I think concrete is waterproof, but I'd need to double check on that for the long run.
