Hi Dragon, I'm not sure there was a conversation about Ocala Park Estates, but there are threads here somewhere about Ocala. At the upper middle part of the page is a "Search" spot. If you click on it and then type in Ocala, it should bring up a lot of into about it. We have never been there, but are also considering the Ocala area. Also, I'll bump up the thread of Fla. pics and there may be pics of Ocala in there. Also, you may want to private message Lulu because I believe she has some pics of the town.

If you ended up moving there I would love to hear about. We are moving from Virginia to Ocala Park Estates, Ocala, FL and worry about the neighborhood. I read to avoid anything that has West in the address.

SW area of Merion County is fine. Note that it is revered to as Ocala but is not in the city.
If you are looking at a place in the city look at utility costs. My understanding is that some cities have higher utility rates so they can keep taxes down. Do a good budget on all costs.

Ocala Park Estates is in the NW area outside of Ocala, just North of Hwy 27 and West of I-75.

Ocala Utilities is unfortunately one of the most expensive in Central/Northern Florida. I live within city limits and I am not complaining. I knew this well before I chose to buy my home here. Personally, I feel that the municipal services that are provided by the city make it acceptable.
Back to the original topic, the Ocala Park Estates community is not in the city limits and just outside.
