Does anybody have any info on the older section of On Top of the World - Circle Square (I think)? I may be crazy, but I kind of like that area--the homes are very reasonable. Although attached homes, they are CB construction and, from what I understand, are exterior maintenance free. I know the HOA fees are around $350, but what all does this include? Other information such as the utility and home insurance rates would be most helpful.

Anyone on these boards live in that area or know someone who does? Are there any problems....do you/they like it? Any unusual restrictions or rules? Seems like a lot of homes in that area are for sale and, more often than not, are empty. Curious about the area and hope I can get little more information about it from those in the Ocala area. Thanks!

I live in the old area in OTOW and so do my parents. I live in Americana village and they live in Friendship. We enjoy living here. I'm close to the front gate and near my mailbox area. The lawns and houses outside are kept up and if there are any outside problems you go to the office and it is resolved after sometimes two visits but they are busy and very nice. There is every amminity included in the monthly fee it is a real nice and safe place to live.

On top of the world owns the water utility and controls it's own rates which are very high. They tier the cost regardless of your lot size, plus water used for yards is billed for sewer rates. Be very careful of the lot size and be ready for sticker shock when your water bill arrives. They also refuse to let you have a meter for yard water effort to avoid paying sewer rates for yard water.
