I am passing through Sandusky in the month of August. Is there enough to see and do to occupy a day?

If you go to Cedar Point, then that will take the whole day by itself!

Yea, that is pretty much all there is to do there.

Cedar Point is the main draw; but contrary to popular belief there are plenty of activities to keep you occupied in Sandusky (I'm from there).

In town:
*Jet Express cruises on Sandusky Bay & Lake Erie
*A few cafes, restaurants, and shops downtown (Zinc Brasserie, Damon's, Tre Sorelle Cioccolato, Mr. Smith's Coffeehouse, etc.)
*Shows/symphony at the State Theatre
*Friday night free concerts (local bands) at Mylander Park downtown
*Washington Park gardens
*Follett House Museum
*Merry-Go-Round Museum
*Sandusky Maritime Museum
*Underground Railroad trolley tour
*Sandusky Cultural Center

Edge of town:
*Indoor waterparks
*Goofy Golf (mini golf & go karts, etc.)
*Big Box store land and Sandusky Mall on Route 250
*Firelands Winery
*Sand Hill Winery / Hermes Vineyards
*Quarry Hill Winey & Orchard
*historic village of Milan & Thomas Edison's birthplace museum
*about 10 golf courses within 15 miles

Marblehead Peninsula (only 10 miles to the northwest):
*Marblehead Lighthouse
*East Harbor State Park
*Mon Ami Winery & Restaurant
*Monsoon Lagoon outdoor waterpark

These suggestions are off the top of my head. I would go to the Shores & Islands Visitors Bureau for more info. shoresandislands.com

WOW! your really good Sandwalk.
All the high-lighted ones I've done and East Harbor Sate Park is one of our favorite places to be. But lets not forgot going out to the islands on the jet express, there's more fun to be had out there .

Oh absolutely; can't forget the Erie Isles. I usually take a whole day to do Put-In-Bay

You're welcome. And honestly, it is very hard to get bored in Sandusky...especially in the summer!
