How far from Toledo do I have to go to find rolling hills and woods?

Your closest option would be to head southeast, to the Mohican State Forest area southeast of Mansfield/I-71. That's where you will start seeing the hills and woods.

We camp there our selves from time to time and the annual "Native American Pow-Wow" is held there. It is a very beautiful place, although the economy has hit the little town of Loudonville a tad hard, but they seem to be holding their own quite well.

All of the Ohio (except Toledo Area + NW corner of the State) is saturated with rolling hills of different magnitude. Ohio is a rolling hill state so seeing hills is not a problem. It's much tougher to find "no NO TRESPASSING" woods to stretch your legs, damn insane property rights locking out 95% of the proles from walking in the woods/fields. Unless you schmooze with a local property owners, it's a long ride from Toledo to a State forest/park to find legal woods to walk. The nearest sizable Park would be Cuyahoga Valley National Park, South of Cleveland. Think Michigan. There are a few small state parks within 45 miles radius of Toledo.

While they don't contain any real MAJOR hills, you can find hiking trails in some pretty wooded areas in both Secor and Oak Openings which are both part of the Toledo Metropark System. Secor has one entrance off of Central Avenue, just as you are entering the more rural area west of Toledo. Oak Openings is just southwest of the Toledo Express Airport.
