I am doing a project on Lisbon Ohio for their Chamber of Commerce. If anyone has any interesting history or stories about Lisbon please help me out! I would greatly appreciate any info on the buildings in the area, crimes, old war history, legends and old stories, anything of that type. THANKS!

I passed through Lisbon a couple weeks ago. The downtown drug store was like going back in time; its so charming and nostalgic. The same is true for the Steel Trolley dinner. Lisbon is small town America preserved!

You need to visit the Salem Library. Go up stairs to the Ohio room. You will find a wealth of information in there. I really enjoyed a book about the Sandy & Beaver canal. It explains how the court house was built from sandstone blocks which were originally used in the failed canal project. Lisbon is also known for capturing Confederate General Morgan, and his raiders. There are still stories of his buried loot.
