Kasich already taken 20 trips on airplane (Republic: cost of, airport, office)

Far more than his last two predecessors...

Judging by his first three months in office, Kasich is a more frequent flyer than his two most recent predecessors, the Democrat Strickland and the Republican Bob Taft.
In Strickland’s first 13 months in office, he made 23 trips at a cost of $31,849 and in his last year in office he made 17 trips at a cost of $27,188. (Data for interim years were not available.) Taft made 132 trips in the state planes in his last two years in office at a cost of $147,279.
On a daily rate, Ohio is spending $387.65 for Kasich’s state-plane use compared with $201.75 for Taft and $77.58 for Strickland.

even though his campaign attacked strickland for flying too much!!!

“But because [Strickland] likes hitting the snooze button, he makes a small army of people fire up his plane, get it ready and then fly it from one airport to another so he won’t have to drive an extra 15 minutes to the airport. … Putting aside the wasted money and extra wear and tear, could the guy do something more arrogant? … Frankly, there needs to be a closer review of whether the plane’s cost can even still be justified at all.”

It gets better... Kasich and his staff say that the plane use is essential for meeting with businesses to keep them in Ohio, but not a single one of those trips was to actually meet business leaders.

Looks like he was complaining about repositioning an empty airplane to a more convenient airport, not that Strickland was making too many trips himself.

Can he take a 21st trip - like to Sri Lanka or Tibet or some remote part of the Amazon rainforest - and stay there. I'd be more than happy to pitch in for that!
