Uhhhhh we are looking to relocate........... and originally were only focused on PA but now we've decided to add a few more states as possibilities but we are completely unfamiliar with Ohio. Can anyone guide me in the right direction? we're looking for a SAFE place, great schools, older homes on an acre ish.
Thanks in advance

Well, it's a big state with a lot of acres, LOL, most of them pretty safe. You'll have to be more specific.

Is there a certain city you want to be within a decent driving distance? Do you want to be in Amish county? There's also even more rural areas in SEOhio and the Hocking Hills area. Even some of the suburbs of the larger cities offer homes on one acre within 30min distance. I guess I'm trying to ask you to narrow down what your looking for in a location. Where in PA were you looking and why?

Yeah, we need to know price ranges, amenities needed, etc. Do you want rolling hills, flat areas, etc.??

I have lived in Wooster, OH for about 18 yrs now. I love our area just about 3 miles from the northend of Wooster. We are 2 min. from grocery, shopping, and doctors, but are in a country setting.Moderator cut: advertising outside of the classified ads is not allowed

Medina, Wayne, or Holmes County. I'd be happy to sell you my house with 6 acres in Medina Co. It's a lovely community to raise a family, and easy access to Akron, Columbus and Cleveland.

More info please. Price dependent, you could get more than one acre, but here in the SW corner you'll find plenty of one acre lots.

What exactly is "safe"? That means different things to different people depending on your point of reference. :-)

Going on the basic info provided, I'll submit that almost any rural area in Ohio is going to offer what you're looking for.

Although you didn't mention the most important qualifier (budget), I live in West Central Ohio and would specifically suggest:

- Tipp City/Troy area in Miami County (just north of Dayton, easy access to highways/airport/cities, friendly downtowns, excellent schools, extremely safe, nice housing options in the .5 acre - 2 acre variety)

- Champaign, Darke, and Mercer Counties (more farmland-oriented with tiny towns/villages and even more acreage, but still offering proximity to places like Troy/Sidney/Lima/Greenville for doctors, shopping, etc.)

Good luck with your search!

Williams county
I have lived there for most of my life. Everyone is friendly, small town, safe schools, bigger towns and cities are in driving distances. Edon is a country base living.

So you joined our forum to reply to a 4 year old post?
Merrlane never even replied to his own post and it's 4 years old. I'm guessing he made a decision already.
