I have had a recruiter contact me about a position in Zanesville, OH. My wife and I can't make heads or tails of what happened in this town. It looks like a very scenic area with a couple of state parks right near by and a nice river going through town. However, real estate prices are all over the map and some are downright depressing. A few homes we looked at seemed to be in ok condition and neighborhoods but have been on the market for more than a year.

I saw the Lear plant closed in Zanesville. Was this the last major employer in town? I wouldn't be in that industry but I would hate to move to a depressed area where crime may be increasing. Is it pretty much now a tourist trap for the state parks?
