Looking for a near by Amish District... Anyone know of where there is any close near the Eastern side of the state, or just over the OH/PA border? Especially sawmills, leather shops, handmade furniture... things like that. Interested especially in Amish made and Amish run small towns, villages and businesses. Thanks for any help....

There are actually some amish up here in Trumbull Co. Also, i heard they were opening a Amish market w/food and amish goods and furniture on 422 just past the Eastwood Mall. Actually, it's in between West and Dunkin Donuts.

Visit Trumbull County and discover the Amish of Mesopotamia. (http://www.experience-ohio-amish-country.com/trumbull-county.html - broken link)

Southern Ashtabula and Northern Trumbull County. The countryside near Orwell, North Bloomfield, and, especially, Mesopotamia (locally referred to as Mespo) and Middlefield. Middlefield has an Amish cheese house which sells some of the best cheese you'll ever eat.

Most of the Amish live in the Holmes County area in Ohio and there are also some in Indiana - can't name the county though.

There is a store in the Lima Mall (Allen County) that sells all Amish furniture and can do special orders and the like.

Lots of Amish in Indiana just East of Elkhart, near Middlebury and LaGrange. I believe LaGrange county, Indiana, is a pretty major Amish concentration.
