Clinton County is not such a bad option, it's within reasonable driving distance to Cincy and Columbus, plus Jeffersonville nearby. The amount of money pouring into the state and these retail hubs would be tremendous.

Unfortunately, this is Ohio the new bible belt state of the north and just like it has in the past, this will be voted down once again, all while people complain because Ohio keeps raising taxes, cutting services, etc because of no money.

As far as the jobs go - They will more likely relocate just about 100 people for the new casino if that, this leaves 4,900 jobs.

The minimum wage thing this is far from the truth.

Table Dealers
Pit Bosses
Account Managers
Service Techs
A long with anyone around money.

Will make more then minimum wage... They keep these people happy so they don't have the urge to steal.
YEAH EFFING RIGHT. Ohioans had that chance numerous times in the past, and every time like the stuck up conservatives they are, voted it down. God forbid there's any progression in Ohio. First they pass that stupid "stay 6 feet away from strippers" law, and various other garbage brought about by the special interest groups (mainly the religious right, which is neither) Thank god I left for Colorado when I could.

At least lap dances are still legal here.

All I have to say is... VOTE YES ON ISSUE 6!!! lol

Seriously, I am tired of seeing billions of Ohio dollars go to nearby states. I can't for the life of me understand why Ohioans would vote no! If casinos bring in crime, then get rid of bars and clubs while your at it!

CASINOS BRING IN MONEY, JOBS, AND MUCH MORE, LIKE REVENUE! Also, what is the differance between the lottery and casinos? They both would help Ohio, not just the lottery.

Im only voting for it if they bring a couple casinos to Cleveland. I would like to see some in other parts of the state too, but we need it the most over here.

I only know a few people in my area who go to the boats in Indiana, whether they are taking money out of state, or bringing it back to Ohio if they win is irrelevant. Casino gambling will cause more social problems than it would ever solve and won't make up for the loss of DHL.

How many casinos are within a short drive from Cleveland?

I wouldn't argue that there are 'some' social problems that are directly related from gambling (as there is with anything that stems from addiction for those of you that disagree), but in Cincinnati's case, there is a damn casino 20 mins away. This is like me driving from DT to Springdale. We would not be creating a new problem that already isn't there. It's very hard to argue that the majority of Argosy's customer base aren't Cincinnatians. Hell, that's why the Argosy lobbies millions upon millions of dollars against new casinos in OH.

None that I can think of. Unless you consider a "short drive" 2 1/2 hours to Detroit.

Ohhhh thats right, you are the same person that said Cincinnati was a "short drive" from Indianapolis (2 hours), so its understandable that you think that...Just incase you dont understand my point FYI: 2 hours is not a "short drive". Especially with gas prices...

Jesus Christ man ... chill out. Can I not ask you a freakin question? If not, let me know and I'll refrain from ever doing it again in the future.

i dont gamble much... so when we go to a casino we also like other options of entertainment in the immediate area. such as dining.nightclubs,etc... detroit/windsor or niagra falls are closest to cleveland regarding gambling. i for one will not drive 3 1/2 hrs just for gambling if nothing else exsists around the casino... "wecome to clinton county sir, your room at motel 8 isnt clean yet,but u can wait at the bob evens down the road and eat" . NO THANKX
