This is being presented the worse of the worse.

There is zero sure fired taxes. Why did they play around and attempt to have a casino with vague rules? Both for how it may be taxed and how it might be regulated.

If it is such a great deal for the taxpayers why would there be any doubts about the amount of taxes that could be generated.

All of these casinos are a sore on the backside. None contribute to the well being of anybody, except those who profit. They are designed for one purpose and one purpose only. To take in millions of dollars that probably could have been spent far better for other needs.

Those are the milk for the kids, rent and other daily needs. Lots of seniors and retired lose money they can not afford. In fact you do not need an addiction of any type to get into big trouble. That is the real problem, there are many types of gambling, casinos are the way to lose big and quick. They also make it easy to lose money they do not have.

Already happening in Ohio. Plenty of peeps around me in trouble from loses in WV. It is far more wide spread than normally given credit for. Peeps lose hundreds, even thousands in a weekend. I know too many of them. Some have lost huge amounts, as in the hundreds of thousands.

To claim this is a desirable method of creating employment is a bit of a joke. Ohio does not need a casino, the real solution is to shut down all the rest of them in other states. Yeah, peeps will always gamble but casinos are the worse method available.

Why not just legalize all types of drugs and make money that way. Hey, it will create jobs, peeps will get what they desire. Who cares about the consequences. It is a sad industry with plenty of hurt to go around.

The fact that they could not have done a clean easy to understand ballot question is enough for me to vote NO as many times as possible. It is a very bad set of choices. The last thing the people of Ohio need is another cancer on society which is all any casino really is.

Don't open one here, shut them down in other states. That really should be the question we should get to vote for.

Don't play willy games about what the State of Ohio is really geting and then try to justify it by claims that it really is in society's interest to have something that is inherently bad. This is bad in every aspect one wishes to view it.

1. It is super vague exactly what will happen if approved.

2. The rules are super vague how it will operate.

3. The rules are vague about how it can be regulated or taxed.

So easy to vote against something so poorly presented. If it was such a good thing for Ohio, why was it worded in this manner. If in doubt always vote NO.

Bring an industry with honest jobs to Clinton county, make it something that will add value to society and not create a bunch of losers and walking wounded in the process. Maybe something like a toxic waste treatment plant which in the long run will be far, far better than a casino.

Who do you think is funding that?

Argosy is putting up I believe $25 million dollars for advertising to vote no on the 6 campaign. Gee ... I wonder why?

Please don't make your mind up on any election issue based on the commercials.

According to the commercials - McCain is a drooling senile fool, Obama is a radical muslim, Casino's are bad, Casino's are good..etc..

read the language for yourself.

The commericals (both sides - of course) are totally biased.

If you don't like Casinos and you just want to use those commercials to justify your decision - that's fine. But don't use the commercials to MAKE your decision.

Default Common sense sezs this is bad......

Would you sign any type of contract without knowing all the conditions, arrangements, rules and regs. I doubt it.

That is what they want the taxpayers of Ohio to buy into.

Yes, we might eventually get a casino but should it be under these type of conditions. Not on your life. We should get the straight story, with binding conditions, the State of Ohio and the taxpayers should benefit (if that is at all humanly possible from a casino).

In particular I might look for them to be putting some bucks up front to address what with happen to all the peeps who surely will get hurt from this modern HellPlace. Next I would want them subject to taxes just like any other business. Including property taxes, are they also going to be exempt from those. Exactly what is the local deal?????

Yes, there is all sorts of special interests and competing folks who have an interest one way or the other. There is no doubt the people of Ohio can get royal screwed in a deal like this. Just make it a straight up vote, you can build a casino but we set the rules and regs after that, just like any other business you will pay a tax, set by us, not you.

The ballot vote should not set up a regulation situation to exempt the operator from any type of taxes, rules or regs. It should only be about permission to build it. Easy to vote NO for what appears to be slick worded game. The devil may be in the details, those details appear to be very, very vague. A no vote, simply sends the right message. Is Ohio that desperate that we have to buy a pig in a poke. If Ohio really needs a casino, it should be under a set of far better understood conditions.

For chuckles will they have rules like in NV that a player can be banned for winning. Even if they learn to count cards in their head and turn the odds in their favor. Way too many details are missing. Any place voting to allow casinos better use some common sense up front, sure do not want it to be to late after the fact.

Cosmic --

the language does address the fact that a certain amount of casino profits will be used to pay for anti-gambling programs and public service announcements and counseling.

I think that is pretty standard within the whole industry.

However if you do not want to vote for the casino because you think the wording is too vague - then at least that means you've read the language and are not just reacting to commercials.

I applaud you for taking the time to investigate the matter thoroughly, even though we may ultimately disagree on our vote, I totally respect you for looking beyond the surface of the matter to get your answer.

I live in Clinton County and as a matter of fact there are over 43,000 people that live here. Theres so much more than what you see off of the freaking interstate. For one you have the seat of Wilmington with its historic downtown, courthouse, Wilmington College, Cowan Lake, and so many interesting sites. Another is all of the good caring people that reside here. I live outside of Sabina that is about 7 miles off of I-71 and theres alot of history there too. Don't judge what you can see from a strip of fields from the interstate, Clinton County isn't the nicest place but neither is a lot of other places, im proud to live here and hope people would give it a chance. The casino is being built here because it literary is in the middle of Cincinnati, Dayton, and Columbus. From my house in Sabina i can be in southern Columbus in 45 minutes and northern Cincinnati in about 55 minutes. Also in Downtown Dayton in 40 minutes. Its a great location and i hope that it helps our area with jobs and stabilize our economy.

where were the yes votes when lorain/cleveland wanted casinos ? NOT from voters in clinton county ! any issue with this much controversy imo will be defeated soundly. why not just a simple yes or no to allow gambling in any city that wants it ?

I've been in states with Casinos (Cherokee in NC) and they are really no big deal. A been there, done that type thing for me. Personally I'd much rather go to Vegas, Atlantic City or the like. Timing is not good with the economy. Also, this seems rather thrown together, ill planned and too small scale.

I'd vote Yes anyway.
