Dear all, I'm moving to Ohio soon. Could you guys give me some help?

Google map says it takes about 55 minutes driving from London to Dayton along US-42 (~45 miles). Is it because the speed limit on US-42 is 50 mph? Is the road good enough to drive at 60 mph? Thanks.

I'm not familiar with US 42, but why not take 75? The speed limit is 65 most of the way. If you do take US 42, and it's a 2-lane highway that goes through small towns, I wouldn't recommend speeding. Small town Ohio cops are well known for ticketing people going slightly over the speed limit--it's how they make their money.

Firefightermom's right! Unless there's a BIG wreck on I-70, you'll make MUCH better time to Dayton on the interstate. (But watch your speed out on I-70, too; the Ohio State Highway Patrol is ESPECIALLY active in the vicinity of the I 70/US 42 interchange... Generally, US and OH state routes are 55 mph outside cities and towns in Ohio. (60/65 if the route is 4 lane) The trick is to be aware when the speed limit drops suddenly...

Crew Chief is right. most of its 55mph except where the towns are that you pass through, and watch your speed in those.

Hey CC, how ya doing, long time no talk too. I helped pave 42 going east around SR301 this pass summer, pulled the asphalt out of the Mansfield plant. I hope its nice and smooth for you OTR's .
