Hello. Looking for individuals who may have material and/or stories relating to the Ohio State Reformatory. Unfortunately as time passes, more and more mementos from the facility are thrown away. I am looking for ANYTHING from the reformatory. Photos, badges, clothing, paperwork, mug shots, inmate artwork, etc.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Cordially,

The Dailey Historical Archives

There have also been numerous music videos filmed there.

I do know that my Great-grandmother's brother was a prisoner there....she visited him once (in the 1940s) and refused to return.

I would think that there is plenty of historical material out there about it....I wonder what the real reason behind the post is.

Thank you for your responses. Accept my apology if my intentions weren't made very clear. As for the general information...well I already have all of the public information on this institution. When it comes to information, I am looking for personal stories and insights from former inmates, relatives, guards or other people who may have had experiences.

My goal is to preserve the history of our Ohio Correctional Institutions. There are such dramatic stories that reveal so much about human nature. I am an artist, historian and writer that has dedicated my life to collecting the unwritten history of these revolutionary sites.

I also understand that many experiences are very personal and you may not feel comfortable publicly stating. Feel free to personally contact me with any questions or concerns. Respect for my source's privacy is a matter that I hold supremely important.

Default Brubaker

I was just looking and noticed that Brubaker was named as a film that was done in Mansfield. It was actually done at the Junction City Treatement Center in Perry County. My Grandfather worked there for many years.
