Hello

We'll be visiting OKC from our home in West Texas and planning to catch a thunder game at the Ford Center soon with family. Not at all familiar with OKC.

Wish to stay at a hotel within a very short walking distance.

The Renaissance has a good deal for our dates...can we walk straight to Ford center through the sky bridge? Don't feel comfortable walking around at night in downtown in a new city so was curious if we could avoid the roads.

Other option seems to be the courtyard but rooms are more expensive but will settle for it if there is nothing else close by.

Thanks
Ron

The Renaissance is a great hotel and you can easily walk to the Ford Center in about 5 minutes.
There's a skybridge from the hotel to convention center if I remember correctly. Working your way through the convention center could be tricky if there aren't directions posted on how to get to the Ford Center- the hotel would know though.
Really you would be perfectly fine/safe walking there on the streets. There's lots of construction going on so I'm not sure how open all the sidewalks are but during games the streets are full of people and that area is very safe (okc police are always out directing street traffic during game time). So you shouldn't be afraid to walk outside.

It is not dangerous to walk outside from any hotel in downtown or Bricktown to the Ford Center. The entire area will be filled with people walking to and from hotels, bars, restaurants, as well as police presence. Crime is not a problem.

Totally safe to walk around downtown at night during games. You can catch a pedal cab for a fun ride to or from the game. They are free and just work for tips.
