Hello all,

Having been recently relocated to OKC from CA (Navy), we are in need of an inexpensive vet to clean our three dogs' teeth. We have a Great Dane and two Chihuahuas. I know, I've heard them all. We live in NW OKC and can travel if necessary. Currently I've gotten quotes for as much as $204 per dog . I find it hard to believe that with as big as OKC is that vets would not compete for business with lower prices. Thanks all for your responses in advance.

Milton

Try this place:
Swaim Serum Company & Pet Wellness Clinic

Have you checked with the vet on base at Tinker?

Also, have heard good things about this product, although I have never used it:
Natural Pet Products, Dog Dental Care - PetzLife

The only way we have ever had it done was through Banfield as part of their wellness plan. If you have accidents happen it's a pretty nice thing to have because the office visits are free - I had to get my older dog's shoulder stapled up several years ago and it cost me about $50 all together. Testing and medications are discounted and it includes all your yearly vaccinations in addition to the cleaning. I would imagine the cost would be very high with three animals though, and you are forced to stay on the plan for a year.

I don't have a specific vet to suggest but I do know that February is dental awareness month for pets Our vet out in Edmond (Kickingbird Animal Clinic) offers a discount on teeth cleaning. If you find a vet you like, you might ask if they are going to be offering discounts in Feb. Have you had them professionally cleaned before? Some groomers will just do a general teeth cleaning. Vets charge more depending on the weight because they use anesthesia. Also, find out if they are charging you for bloodwork. If you've had it done before or if your dogs are younger it is my understanding that the risks are pretty low and you can consider passing on the bloodwork
