Looks like the NBA ended up working out just fine in OKC! Especially after all the national gripping on how it wouldnt. Wow.

Oklahoma City ranked as the second-highest-rated market with a 10.1 rating for TNT's coverage of the NBA All-Star Game. The Sunday night telecast received a 5.4 national overnight rating, the second highest-rated overnight since a 5.9 in 2005, despite facing strong competition from the Academy Awards on ABC.

Miami-Ft. Lauderdale ranked No. 1 with a 10.5, followed by Oklahoma City 10.1, Orlando-Daytona Beach 9.7; Chicago 8.7 and Los Angeles 8.3.

Oklahoma City was well represented for the game with Thunder stars Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, Thunder coach Scott Brooks and L.A. Clippers star Blake Griffin, a former OU star who grew up in the city.

The 10.1 was Oklahoma City's highest NBA All-Star rating since it became a metered market in 1999. Tulsa also set a record at 3.6.

For the NBA All-Star Saturday Night coverage on TNT, Oklahoma City ranked fourth with a 6.9. Miami led the way with 9.4. TNT earned a 4.4 national overnight rating, the second- highest rating for the event.

I loved it too that Durant got the MVP. Good stuff and good for OK City!

I would think that any city with a new team would work out just fine.

As Durant said, it's a shame how it all went down... we do miss our Sonics.

Well, apparently it almost went bankrupt back in Seattle a few years ago.

Easy on those sour grapes, Pardner.

Not sour. Teams moving because they want a new stadium and didn't get it isn't anything new...

Enjoy your team. Seattle will have another soon... and possibly NHL as well, assuming the talks for a new arena that are currently going on end with positive results, which could very well happen now that there isn't a team here.

Seattle won't get a new NBA team , because the Sacramento Kings are going to stay put in Sacramento CA. Seattle new Arena is supposed to be PRIVATELY FUNDED , so if that turns out to be the case Seattle should get a NHL team at the very LEAST.
