I was saying that Choctaw is rural, not Edmond. I loved living in Edmond.

Thanks everyone for the information. I think we are leaning to somewhere west or north due to commute times. I currently communte over an hour each way and that is one of our pluses to moving to OKC. Hope to see you around!!

Any other advice?

I just noticed where you are moving from. That's where we came from as well. I think if you want anything even similar to Katy, you're going to need to look at Edmond. It's the only place that felt remotely like what we were accustomed to.

Edmond is waaaaaaaaay too congested. You'll sit at a light at 33rd & Broadway for a couple of weeks.

Choctaw: much less congested.

The traffic in Edmond is nothing compared to where they are moving from.
I will agree that intersection is bad but we rary e Ed drive through there.

Choctaw really isn't rural. It's suburban. Choctaw in the east side's equivalent to Piedmont but has the trees of Edmond.

Choctaw has a 6A school so don't kid yourself, there are a lot of people out there and some really upscale housing areas. It was just a small country town that exploded with growth. I'd bet there are 40000 or so in the Choctaw school district.

I should have mentioned this in an earlier post, but forgot to. Wherever you end up in the metro, you will not have to deal with the kinds of commutes found in your area. While there will be more cars on the roads during rush hours, unless there's a wreck or something, the traffic will still be flowing at a good speed. Most of the time traffic still moves along at 60 mph. We do not have the kind of stop and go traffic crawling along at a snails pace that you are accustomed to. For example, we live on the north side of Edmond, near I35. Its about a 20 mile commute from our house to my husbands office downtown. He can be from our house, to parked and upstairs in his office in about 35-40 minutes, less if he leaves early. He usually doesn't leave the house until 7-7:30. The hardest part of his commute is in the parking garage. I've driven from our house all the way to OU, down in Norman, during rush hour, in about 45 minutes. That's about 40 miles. Not something that would be possible in Houston.

I think they should change the title of this forum from Oklahoma City to Edmond. That's all anybody gets on here to talk about anyway. Apparently, there are NO other places to live, eat, shop or visit other than Edmond. All of us living outside of Edmond should just really move to Edmond because there are no other valuable places in Oklahoma City. No wonder hardly anybody gets on this forum...it's all full of close-minded people. Just like Edmond itself! ....

It's too bad. It would be nice to hear something positive about other parts of OKC....
