I’m going to be 100% honest! I grew up on the North side of OKC. Western and Hefner area. PLEASE DO NOT LISTEN TO ANY OF THE PEOPLE SAYING YOU DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO WORRY ABOUT IN OKC!!! The 7 eleven on Hefner and western has bullet proof window for a reason. I’ve seen people get their doors kicked in I’ve seen someone get shot I knew someone that got into a fight he won the guy that lost the fight came back and shot him in the back of the head....should I continue.....I have 30 years worth of stories....OKC does have its good areas but the next street over from your good neighborhood could be the start of the hood. North south east and west sides of okc Are all bad! Trust me Iknow these city streets very well. Even Midwest City and del city is bad don’t let tinker Air Force Base fool you because there is a lot of Bloods out there.

Ya'll, comparatively speaking it's not that bad.

I've stopped many times at the 7-11 you reference. I'm Native/Anglo (a shade darker than just pure Birch Tribe but still look quite Anglo) and never had an issue.

Sure, Western and Hefner and moving south can be a tough area in spots. Just about everything west of there is totally fine. NW OKC, in general, is quite safe.

I wouldn't call corners where people beg for money all that safe. Some of them may not take no for an answer.

Heck, there are more folks begging on the nice corners up by Penn and Memorial.

The crime in Oklahoma is not that bad unless you go looking for an illegal substance.
