Like the title states, looking for newer neighborhoods in North OKC, Edmond, Deer Creek, Yukon or Piedmont that allow separate shop buildings. Wife and I have accumulated quite a few "toys" and need the additional space. So far I've learned about 4 Corners builders, some of their communities are "shop building approved", but the houses are a bit plain for my taste, and in some remote areas. Looking for something w/somewhat close access to turnpike, where I can build/buy 2500-3000 sq ft home, and have a detached garage/shop. Any help appreciated!

Piedmont is where you want to go if you want outbuilding(s). Easy access to the turnpike and everyone has some kind of outbuilding.

Out of your list, Piedmont is probably the best. Not that you cannot get an acreage property with a storage building in the other areas you mentioned, but subdivisions and builders that cater to this are not all that common in those areas.

I'm not terribly familiar with that area, but I do know there are several subdivisions that cater to this lifestyle. Look at Northwood Lake, its right of off Northwest Expressway just north of JKT.

It may be best to get a lot and then pick a builder. My boss and her husband used Aaron Tatum homes to build a place out in Luther with a shop building. Really nice place, definitely not "cookie cutter" Here is their webpage.

I've found a few subdivisions that allow detached garages/shops that are on around 1 acre, which would be fine by me.... I don't really have a need for anything bigger, too much to mow in the hot summers
