I'm moving to OKC from Indiana in about 5 weeks due to a new job. The job site is on the NW side near Quail Springs. I don't want to spend anymore that $700 for a one bedroom. Not to mention I'm 22 and a female so I want to be some where safe. I'm having trouble finding something that meets my standards. Does anyone have suggestions on a decent apartment. I am starting to become overwhelmed please help!

You can find some really good deals in NW OKC near 122nd and MacArthur. That would be convenient to work and its quite a bit cheaper than Edmond. It's cookie cutter suburbia out there and not very convenient to nightlife and social activities, but you get a lot for your money.

If you rent in the 122nd corridor, I would say stay west of Hefner Pkwy. 122nd can get kind of shady especially east of May.

If being near social activities and amenities is important to you, I would say look downtown or in Edmond.

There are a couple of new complexes that just opened up on the west side of Quail Springs Mall that looked nice and secure for now.

Try one of the apartment complexes around 150th and Penn or 150th May. They should be around your 700 range before utilities

This is a good suggestion. A few years ago when we moved here, we lived in a corporate apartment in Sycamore Farms (Penn @ 150th) until we could close on our house. I have no idea what the rent would be because ours was a large 2/2 that was fully furnished, right down to all the silverware, so it would not be the same. It was a very nice, gated complex with lots of young professionals living there. There are also a couple of other new complexes right there as well.
